KVS Admission 2023: Parents are waiting for the registration process to start for admission of children in Kendriya Vidyalayas. According to media reports, the application process for Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) admission may start from February 15. The admission process will continue till the last week of March. After this, the new academic session will start from April 1. Academic sessions started last year due to the Kovid epidemic. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan conducts the entrance exam for admission to class 9th. Admission to first class is done on the basis of the online lottery system and priority. While admission in class II to class VIII is done through priority category and offline lottery system.
According to media reports, this time there is a possibility of admission in Kendriya Vidyalayas only in the first class. Due to the end of the quota, admission to the remaining classes will not be possible because the number of children in most of the schools is more than the seats. If there is any transfer or other case, then only the seat will be vacant.
Quota system was ended last year
Each MP or Rajya Sabha member could recommend a maximum of 10 students from their constituencies for admission in classes 1st to 9th. But last year the government abolished the MP quota. Apart from this, other quotas including 100 children of the Ministry of Education, children and dependents of MPs, and retired KV employees, the discretionary quota of the school management committee chairman were also abolished. The new quota includes 50 seats for children of Group B and C central police organizations like CRPF, BSF, ITBP, SSB, CISF, NDRF, and Assam Rifles, which are deployed for internal security, border security, and disaster response.
