Save KV - Parents' Protest Post Assurance Delays Movement After Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2 Closure Rumors

The news of the potential closure of Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2 in Hathi Badla has prompted concerned parents to postpone their planned protest, which was scheduled to begin on Friday. On Thursday, they were reassured by the school's principal that the school will not be closed and that teachers' salaries will be disbursed promptly. However, the final decision in this matter lies with the central government.

Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2 is managed by the Survey of India and also allocates the budget for all its expenses. Nevertheless, recently, the Ministry of Science and Technology was considering the closure of schools, which was also communicated to the Survey of India. Moreover, the budget was put on hold, resulting in teachers and staff not receiving their salaries for the past three to four months. In response, some teachers and parents wrote a letter to the former Minister of Central Education and Member of Parliament, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, on Tuesday. They demanded the preservation of the school and prompt salary disbursement. Various parents associated with the school began to unite, and on Friday, a meeting was held at the school gate. The KV Teacher's Association and Parent's Associations also joined the protest. Hindustan, a leading newspaper, prominently covered this news. Following the publication, the school and KV management became active. On Thursday, Principal Vijay Naithani assured that the school will remain open and salaries will be provided soon. He also mentioned that the survey has indicated that the budget will be released shortly. Consequently, the teachers and parents have currently postponed their protest."
